Cyanotypes
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process resulting in cyan-blue prints. Ferric ammonium citrate in combination with potassium ferricyanide becomes a photosensitive solution, which is then applied to paper, textiles or other absorbant materials in the dark. Prints can be made from large format negatives, digital negatives or objects put directly on the surface to make photograms. I print outside in natural sunlight, but a light box or UV light can also be used. After exposure the print is thoroughly rinsed in water and dried.
